Still City Workshop Participant - Jared Braiterman (Tokyo)

Jared Braiterman is a design anthropologist, founder of Tokyo Green Space, and research fellow at Tokyo University of Agriculture.

Tokyo Green Space examines how bringing nature into the city benefits the environment and people. American Anthropologist, CNN, Plant Journal, Newsweek Japan, and Ecologist have featured this project as a leader in new ideas about urban life. You can read articles and a daily photo blog at www.TokyoGreenSpace.com.

Recent projects include Tokyo Local Fruit and Let’s Welcome Tanuki Back to Tokyo. The latter is a project of S.C.R.O.T.U.M., co-created with Chris Berthelsen of A Small Lab. Other interests include public bathing, queer encounters, and urban style.

Jared moved to Tokyo in 2008 with his husband.
